With the kid's school on vacation for the holiday, it left little time to hop on here and bring you some awesome reviews and product info. But guess what? They are back in school and we are back to work!

Let's talk about a great read that Santa left under the Christmas tree this year!

The Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual, has been a book on my 'want' list for quite some time now. Her beauty books, along with Kevin Aucoin, are to me, the holy grail of beauty information. What is this book about you ask? Taken from the Bobbi Brown website:

"Bobbi Brown's 25+ years of makeup artist experience is distilled into one volume that includes over 200 full-color photos and step-by-step instructions as well as a "Ten Step Guide to Perfect Makeup" that teaches you how to apply your makeup in ten minutes or less. This book is THE book I will recommend to you if you are looking to learn the basics of makeup. This will cover everything from what you need to apply makeup, how to apply makeup, what nutrients are best for your skin, skincare...you name it, the topic is most likely going to be mentioned in this book.

I usually get asked questions from friends/coworkers/social media followers along the lines of, how do I contour, how do I wear makeup with eyeglasses, how do I apply eyeshadow, what does blending mean? All of those questions are covered in this book. It will cover topics that the novice would need to know and even little tips that professionals may not already know. 

What I really like most about this book, is that Bobbi Brown cosmetics is not pushing their products on you! I know, it sounds crazy, right?! When the book discusses what products to use, it never tells you use Bobbi Brown eyeshadow, Bobbi Brown foundation, etc. This book is not an advertisement for her makeup line, which a majority of makeup books seem to be lately. This book simply gives you the information you should be armed with to properly purchase makeup, have what you need, apply it properly and take care of it properly.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good working knowledge on all things makeup related.
