On the never ending quest of the perfect drugstore matte liquid lip, the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip caught my eye.
The packaging is clean and sleek, with the clear plastic container being slightly frosted with a shiny black applicator. The product applicator is your typical liquid lip applicator, not doe foot or curved, nothing special.
The formula is exactly as they say it is, matte (when does that ever happen?!). Also, this formula, once dry, wears amazingly well. The only drawback with the product is simply based on the colors that I chose. They products do apply very patchy and streak very easily. To “fix” this issue, on application it is best to apply the color in a thin layer, in one direction and allow it to fully dry before applying the next layer. Word of the wise, don’t try to blot your lips when this is drying down - trust me.

All in all, I was most impressed with the staying power of the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip. I would be interested in trying some other colors from this line, preferably the lighter colors, to see if the patchiness is caused by the colors or if it is the formula.
