One way or another, most people have heard of Kat Von D. The Kat Von D of the past was "that chick from the tattoo show." The Kat Von D of present has become a major player in the beauty world. Kat Von D makeup products have a cult like following and it is for good reason. 

 Let's take a look at some of her eyeshadow palette's in today's post. We will be looking at the Shade and Light eye palettes in the shades Plum and Rust. 

First thing is first here, these shadows are not for the faint of heart. The colors are bold, bright and one of the most pigmented I have used in a quite a while. Initially, I figured these shadows would be like most others that you get in quad like this, slightly powdery but blend well with each other. Boy, oh boy, was I wrong. One light handed tap of the makeup brush in the pan and there is enough pigment on this brush to create a statement look. 

The Plum quad is quite striking. When swatching the shadows, the darker colors swatched SO nicely. They are not dry and patchy like most darker colors, they are creamy and showed no indication of patchiness. The light colors did feel slightly drier than the darker colors, also a bit more 'crumbly' but this does not affect their performance at all. On the eye these colors are blendable and pigmented. A little goes a LONG way with the colors. Use a light hand and blend well, and you can achieve a truly striking look. 

The Rust quad has quickly become my favorite, quick and easy, all-in-one, fall colored palette. The colors all swatch the same as the Plum palette and apply pigmented and blendable as well. 






Recently, the Kat Von D Shade and Light eye palettes have been popping up at Marshall's and TJ Maxx stores across the United States. These typically retail for $22 on the Sephora website, but you can score these for $9.99 at Marshall's or TJ Maxx while supplies last.
